How to Set Up a New Computer or Complete Device Enrollment
When you receive a new computer from your organization, it may already be pre-configured by CMO IT Services, or it may require you to complete a setup process called device enrollment. Enrollment registers your computer with your organization's management system so that security policies, applications, and settings are applied automatically.
What to Expect During Setup
- Power on the computer and connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet when prompted.
- Sign in with your work email and password when prompted. This is how the computer identifies you and your organization.
- Complete MFA. You will be asked to approve a sign-in request on your phone.
- Wait for configuration. The computer will automatically download and install your organization's security policies, required applications, and settings. This process can take 15 to 45 minutes. Do not turn off the computer during this time.
- Restart when prompted. Some configurations require a restart. Follow any on-screen prompts.
After Setup
Once the setup is complete, verify the following:
- Outlook is configured and receiving email.
- Teams is installed and you can sign in.
- OneDrive is syncing your Documents, Desktop, and Pictures folders.
- Your password manager browser extension is installed and signed in.
If Something Is Missing
If an application did not install or a setting seems incorrect, submit a ticket. CMO IT Services can push additional configurations remotely. Do not attempt to install software manually.
Need help with setup? Submit a ticket and a CMO IT Services technician will assist you.
