How to Request New Equipment or a Computer Replacement

How to Request New Equipment or a Computer Replacement

If your computer is aging, frequently crashing, or no longer meeting the demands of your work, you can request a replacement through the helpdesk. The same process applies for other hardware such as monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, or docking stations.

How to Submit a Request

Submit a ticket with:

  • What equipment you need (new computer, additional monitor, replacement keyboard, etc.)
  • Why you need it (current device failing, new role requirements, new hire, etc.)
  • Any urgency or deadline

What Happens Next

  1. CMO IT Services reviews the request and recommends hardware that fits your organisation's standards and budget.
  2. Approval. Equipment purchases are approved by your manager or designated procurement contact. CMO IT Services will coordinate with them.
  3. Ordering and lead time. Standard business computers typically arrive within five to ten business days. Availability can vary.
  4. Setup and deployment. We configure the new device with your organisation's software, security policies, and your user profile before delivering it to you. This includes device enrolment in Intune, application installation, and data migration from your old machine if applicable.
  5. Old equipment. Your old device will be securely wiped and either reassigned, recycled, or disposed of according to your organisation's policy.

What If My Computer Still Works but Is Slow?

A slow computer does not always need replacement. Submit a ticket describing the performance issues and we will diagnose whether a repair, cleanup, or upgrade (such as additional RAM or an SSD) can extend the life of your current machine.

Need new equipment? Submit a ticket and a CMO IT Services technician will assist you.
