How to Set Up Your Email on a Mobile Device

The recommended way to access your work email on a phone or tablet is through the Microsoft Outlook app. Your organization's security policies require mobile devices to be enrolled in device management before accessing work data, so you may be prompted to complete an enrollment step during setup.

Setup Steps (iPhone and Android)

  1. Download Microsoft Outlook from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Do not use the built-in Mail app, as it may not support your organization's security requirements.
  2. Open Outlook and tap Add Account.
  3. Enter your work email address and tap Continue.
  4. Sign in with your password and complete the MFA prompt on your phone.
  5. Complete device enrollment if prompted. You may be asked to install a management profile. This is required by your organization and allows CMO IT Services to enforce security policies such as requiring a screen lock. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete enrollment.
  6. Wait for the sync. Outlook will begin downloading your email, calendar, and contacts. This may take a few minutes depending on the size of your mailbox.

Troubleshooting

If enrollment fails, make sure your device's operating system is up to date. Older OS versions may not meet security requirements. If Outlook asks for credentials repeatedly, remove the account from Outlook and set it up again from scratch.
